In most cases the reasons that vets warn people not to let cats become 'outside' cats is because of the following: 1. Other dangerous animals or pets may attack the cat. This is obviously going to depend on your location but it does happen.2.
Unwanted breeding of cats with other strays or housecats. Not an issue if your cat is spayed or neutered, though.3. Risks of cats getting run over by traffic.
This is a big concern and at least 2 of our prior cats have died this way. Its very sad, so if you live near traffic this is a big problem. I think its fine to let a cat be an outdoor cat if its proved itself responsible.
Only one of our 3 current cats are outdoor cats (one is blind, and the other is spooked easily). So we only let the third roam because she has proved herself as capable.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
