Yes ... It's not so much that you're "catching" fewer colds as it is your body is immune to more things the older you are. Many "cold" viruses (usually a form of rhinoviruses) you can only catch once, and then your body will remember them.. and the next time they enter your system they will be eradicated quickly (so you won't fall sick to them again). Other colds, that are caused by bacteria, are a little more difficult for your body to combat (bacteria are generally a little more resilient than viruses) so you can fall sick to the same bacterial infection over and over (several STDs are bacterial, staph infections, botulism, strep throat (streptococcus bacteria), etc).
One thing you may know, "the common cold" doesn't really exist. Its just the form of rhinovirus thats more prevalent that cold season (same thing with the flu - they only vaccinate against what they THINK will be the most common variant of the virus.. thats why you can still get sick even if you get the vaccine... and also why you have to get vaccinated every year) Hope that helps...
It can be normal I'm not a doctor. However, I have read that there are many things that happen to your body as you age that could be the cause of less colds/diseases. As you age you build immunities to many of the colds that exist.
Eventually you are able to resist them. We fight diseases every day and only get "sick" when our bodies are overloaded and are unable to deal with them and have to work overtime (generating fevers and mucus to fight the enemy). An interesting fact I read is that about every seven years your entire body will have been recreated - at a cellular level. It is not unusual to find that allergies that you had are gone and new ones appear over the 7 years.
Perhaps you are also better able to fight diseases too? I rarely get sick anymore. But I also take much better care of myself.

Sort of It's more your surroundings than you. Hundreds of cold types I think. Kids have it because they are always around other kids with the associated contact between them, toys, food, etc. Then you get fewer in the teen's and early twenties.
New parents start all over because their kids become carriers. As those kids age it fades out again until you become grandparents. That's my theory anyway.
1 I know children's have more colds etc than grownups, but also at one point when you get older you start to get more (I guess). So the question is related to the period 25-40 (Is it normal development, or is it something else like environment doing it) .
