Is it okay to mix Adderall and Valium?

I am not a Doctor but I doubt it. It seems the two are at the different ends of the spectrum. Adderall is used for ADHD and narcolepsy which is a stimulant.It is an amphetamine and works on the central nervous system.

Valium on the other hand is a muscle relaxer and actually attaches itself to brain cells. It seems the two would work against eachother and possibly set up a need to addiction offsetting one another. I would definately contact a Doctor before mixing these two.

Self-medicating Valium and Adderall is probably a bad idea. However, there are many good reasons that a doctor may prescribe both medications. Bear in mind that Valium (Diazepam) can be used to treat (among other things): Nausea as an anti-emetic Anti-anxietal and calmative Anti-seizure med Anti-toxin and antagonist for many marine or arthrodpod neurotoxins Insomnia (often a result of Adderall) Used at a treatment for chemical warfare agents including sarin Benzodiazapine class meds created a revolution in pharmacology, especiially due to the wide spectrum of possible uses, and significantly lowered M&M stats by replacing drugs like barbituates In this case, I wouldn't write this combination off as a bad idea without considering the entire picture Alternate Anwer: This isn't a bad idea at all.

What the first person who answered is thinking is that they are two opposites, and would create a sort of speedball affect, but this is not true First answer removed in this version Adderall does indeed speed up your mind and thoughts, making you focus much better, however if you suffer from anxiety, Adderall can make this much worse. The best solution for anxiety is a benzo, like Valium, even though I prefer Xanax, to counter act the anxiety. Benzo's do Not slow down your thoughts as much as they simply make your more relaxed.

I am currently prescribed 30mg XR once a day, 10mg IR in the afternoon, and 1mg Kpins twice a day by my doctor and they work perfectly together and I Do indeed recommend it Alternate Answer: I am prescribed 60mgs Adderall IR daily and was just recently prescribed 10mg of Valium by the same doctor. I PERSONALLY haven't experienced any bad side affects, and agree that it does help with anxiety, although I have taken other Benzo's that have worked better for anxiety Clarification: I noted that self-medicating was a bad idea. Note that these two medications are not contraindicative.

I stand by this. Both these medications require a prescription, and adminstration should be monitored by a doctor Alternative Answer I take 40mg of Adderal a day and have back muscle issues which I take Valium for. Its helfpful and I havn't noticed any problems.

I do really suggest though, that you talk with your doctors about what you specifically need to think about concerning this combo.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
