Icing - The linesman will have his arm in the air indicating he is about to blow the whistle for icing. If no icing, you will see him wave it off, same waving arm signal as in safe in baseball. You as the goalie have the best view of linesman, other players on the team likely have their back to him.
So if the linesman signals icing, and you go and play the puck play will continue. Delay of game? If you have a trapezoid rule, you can play the puck anywhere in front of the goal line, and directly behind the net.
But not in the corners behind the goal line.
Probably up to the red line (on your side), it depends because grade school is different from NHL.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
