Is it safe to take ms contin while pregnant?

Based on studies done MS Contin is classified as a pregnancy Category C medication. This would mean that the drug may not be safe to use during pregnancy but it can still be prescribed by the physician if the benefit outweighs the risk. Studies on animals showed that morphine which is an active ingredient in MS Contin can cause different birth defects like skeletal problems and brain disease.

When this drug is taken in the later stage of pregnancy, it can cause narcotic withdrawal after giving birth which will lead to fast breathing, vomiting, and tremors. ----quote---- Pregnancy Category C The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) uses a category system to classify the possible risks to a fetus when a specific medicine is taken during pregnancy. Pregnancy Category C is given to medicines that have not been adequately studied in pregnant humans, but do appear to cause harm to the fetus in animal studies.

Also, medicines that have not been studied in any pregnant women or animals are automatically given a "default" pregnancy Category C rating. ----end of quote.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
