Is it time Ken Shamrock retired?

Considering that the last 3 fights I saw Shamrock in were losses (against Rich Franklin in UFC, who knocked Shamrock out when Rich was fighting at LH, against Sakuraba in PRIDE fighting, when he couldn't continue, and now the loss to Ortiz), yes. Shamrock's one of the pioneers of the sport, but the sport's made a lot of progress since Ken was in his prime, and Ortiz is still in his prime, while Ken isn't. I think that's among the reason's Tito's fighters on TUF3 were 3 of the 4 finalists - Tito keeps his training and his thinking fresh, while Ken is keeping the glory days of the Lion's Den in his head, and MMA has made a lot of progress in the last 10 years.

That's why Matt Hughes was able to beat Royce Gracie as well - Gracie was great in his day, but doesn't integrate the fighting styles the way modern MMA fighters like Hughes, Franklin, Ortiz and Liddell do. Ken probably will be in another rematch, but I think he's at the same point in his career as when Ali fought Larry Holmes - ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
