Rubbish.... there's some mickey taking and leg-pulling but there isn't any real animosity. We get on quite well really.
I have been to Wales (North, Mid, and South( several times without experiencing it myself, but if they do, they have good cause. My English primary school taught me "Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a thief" along with "Little Bow Peep", "Jack and Jill" and "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall." When I came to secondary school one day and asked about a broken window, I was told that Jones, the science teacher, had lost his cool (something all Welsh people apparently made a habit of) and had thrown a bench stool at someone, who had ducked just in time.
And but for the automatic hostility of so many Englishmen to anyone Welsh, we would probably have had Neil Kinnock as PM instead of that ****** Scotsman Tony Blair.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
