Is joel osteen a false prophet?

I've taken a look at your profile, and cannot tell who you are as far as your faith or lack of it are concerned. There are a great deal of non believers out there who see Christian;s mistakes, and weaknesses as evidence that Christianity is a false religion. What we all should really be doing is although we recognise erroneous teaching of men; nevertheless, we should take our stance on The Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Apostles of Christ (in The Bible) Personally, I am coming into communication with other Christians on Yahoo Answers who actually refuse to accept sound doctrine when it conflicts with what their preferred teachers have loaded them with over the years.

This doesn't make them enemies, but it does make communication difficult. When Scripture is presented to counter an unscriptural bias, their often response is, "That's the Devil". I call the problem 'selective hearing' when they cannot accept textual authority of God's Word.

All it takes for a teaching to become false, is for a scripture to be taken out of context - it then becomes a pretext, and a precursor for deception.

He is not a prophet, of any kind. He is motivational speaker, more then anything. He uses physiology on regular basis, on top of humans’ weaknesses.

That mixture of vulnerability breads a good ground for emotional games and successful money collection.

Yes. He teaches that Jesus came to make us healthy and wealthy. He does not teach about repentance and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.

He mentions nothing of the depravity of man. He mentions nothing of repentance and that makes what he preaches a false gospel.

Joel doesn't claim to be a prophet. He is a pastor whose gift is exhortation, and he preaches salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. In this he is sound in the faith.

He never claimed to be a prophet. He's just a good speaker. I'm an atheist and I still stop to see his stuff on tv once in a while.

Not a prophet.....maybe a pastor....but most likely a business man who is making a lot of money....

He never prophesied anything....he likes to take people's money though.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
