I'm considering laser hair removal for my back and backside. I'd like to know several things about the procedure:1) Is it effective? Does it remove 100% of the hair?
If not, how much?2) Is it truly permanent? Or does some portion of the hair grow back.3) Is it safe?4) Is it painful?5) How long does it take on an average person's body?6) Would electrolysis be safer? More effective?
Cheaper?7) How much does laser hair removal cost? I imagine the costs vary by body section and size, so, if you answer, can you say if you got the treatment on a large section of your body or a small area.8) Would you recommend laser hair removal? It is effective and safe and for what you need will cost around $500.00/visit. 1) Is it effective? Does it remove 100% of the hair?
How much hair it removes depends on the professional doing the removing and the equipment being used. There are lasers that can remove destroy even the smallest follicle but they will cost more. Also it depends on your complexion.
I have darker skin therefore it is more difficult for the laser to detect the difference between my hair and my skin so it has a better chance of not taking. A true professional will let you know before starting what your chances will be but it depends on many factors. 2) Is it truly permanent?
It is permanent but not the first time, you will probably have to go back three or four times before it becomes permanent. This is because you have several hair folicles that are in different stages of growth, some may not be exposed when you go but they will be the next time.3) Is it safe? It is safe because the laser rays are passive and leave no residual rays in the body to become harmful (as opposed to x-rays).
However if you are darker complected, it does tend to cause unsightly scarring (again refer to the section above as the laser uses variations in color to find the hair follicle. I definitely recommend having the doctor do a "test patch" in an area that can't be seen and then determining if your skin reacts well.4) Is it painful? If you can take plucking, you can handle a laser, it's like a pinch or rubber band snap.
Sometimes it feel like a cool burn it just depends on how sensitive you are. If you don't do well during the test, ask for a mild pain reliever.5) How long does it take on an average person's body? It is much quicker than electrolysis so your back and buttocks could probably be done in about 3-4 hours.6) Would electrolysis be safer?
I don't know that I would say it's safer, it's electricity that is shot into the hair folicle to destroy it, it will definitely take more times to be effective because it's not as precise and it sometimes take several "shocks" to eliminate a hair follicle completely so it might be more expensive in the end. It feels like a tiny electric shock so that might not be as comfortable as a laser.7) How much does laser hair removal cost? I imagine the costs vary by body section and size, so, if you answer, can you say if you got the treatment on a large section of your body or a small area.An upper lip can cost about $50.00 for tough hair (and mine is pretty tough) but the prices for the back and buttocks were listed at $250.00 and $99.00 I quoted the $500 because if you need a pain reliever and the test patch I wanted to give you a realistic picture of costs.8) Would you recommend laser hair removal?
I would definitely recommend looking into it, I can't recommend it for you because everyone's skin is different so have a test patch, it's a major blessing if it will work for you. Sources: My Opinion through various research of my own..
Test laser hair removal at home with the Rio laser hair removal kit Laser hair removal can run into thousands if you are treating a very large area. Several treatments on the same area are usually required before permanent hair reduction is achieved. Note that in some cases hair has started to grow again after 12-18 months or so.
Generally, laser hair removal treatments work best on fair skinned people with dark hair. This is because the laser has to be able to differentiate between the hair shaft and your skin - you certainly wouldn't want to be lasering your skin! There is a home laser hair removal kit called the Rio which uses a safe 808nm diverging diode laser to kill the hair follicle.
The major difference between the home laser hair removal kit and a salon laser is that the Rio treats one hair at a time, whereas salon laser machines can treat an area of approximately 1cm squared. The manufacturers of the Rio are rumoured to be releasing a laser hair removal machine that can target multiple hairs during 2007. You could certainly use a laser hair removal machine like the Rio to test out how effective treatments would be before spending a lot of money at a salon. In either event, I would suggest you visit a number of salons and ask a lot of questions about the whole process and how likely it would be permanent for your skin/hair type.

Some dermatologists offer packages. New laser procedures are less painful than earlier attemps. Major factor...... lasers only truely work on DARK hair, the laser light will reflect off of light hair and give no results.
The clinic will give you options and tell you all about each procedure. They will lay a thin layer of "jellie" (much like they do for ultrasounds) on your skin and then they will place the light/laser over that for a few seconds......... There is really no pain but you make have some redness and puffiness for a short time afterwards. No one can honestly say how many treatments one may need, it goes by the person.......... Check with a dermatologist in your area...... they will give you all the information, prices etc....... Good luck! .
Since you have probably looked at reviews on the internet, I will just tell you my personal experience. I only had a small area (my chin) done. I went for 6 visits (8 weeks apart).
It removed a lot of the hair, but it didn't remove everything. Also, you can't wax, tweeze, or bleach the hair. The only hair removal method allowed is shaving.
Also, I will have to have a touch up (1 year later) because it's starting to come back. I didn't have any problems. However, I was not able to tan (which sucked because I did it in the summer), and I had to wear SPF30 all the time.It didn't take very long because I had such a small area done.
I guess it would depend on the size of the laser tip. Maybe they use bigger ones for bigger areas. I'm not sure.
Electrolysis sucks because they have to remove each hair (no Thanks). I paid $200/session for my chin. I would recommend laser hair removal, but it was pretty painful.
You could feel the zapping of the individual hair follicles. Sources: my personal experience .

Laser hair removal is effective if the correct laser and laser settings are appropriately used. Their are different types of lasers and must be appropriate for the individuals skin type, however it is important for the individual keep up with the time intervals being that a number of sessions are required for laser hair removal to be effective.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
