Is learning becoming the single most important leisure activity?

I think that it is....a great joy for many, but not for everyone. To some it reminds them of 'school' which they may have hated. Or, they consider 'learning' absorbing information that won't be necessary in 'real' life.

For me, it is so much fun! I have always done it and have actually benefitted from a lot of learning that I wasnt aware would be helpful later in life. The world comes alive to me as I learn more.It was incorporated into our daily lives with our family as kids and continues to this day.

I have learned quite a crazy collection of things over my life and enjoyed each moment of it.

I am, but most people I know are here doing this or playing games,or meeting old friends at some absurd website... Not a lot of learning going on in the computerworld, I'm afraid...

3 Learning really can be fun. Not just book learning but activities like roller skating where you learn to master certain muscles and then find the joy of getting around without fear of falling. Or learning crafts and being able to make yourself a pretty bracelet or a colorful magnet for your refrigerator.

Learning provides the opportunity to conquer areas where you previously felt insecure. It's HOW you learn that makes all the difference.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
