If they did something stupid (unnecessary), then spank, if they said something stupid (disrespectful), then slap them across their face and tell them to turn the other cheek. They'll learn someday...
I definitely agree! Spanking just doesn't feel right as your child get older and older especially near the mid to late teen years. They have their hormones in full swing and they probably view spanking as something sexual.
My older son have told me that they do this playful spanking game every Friday at school or whatever so spanking should definitely be out of your arsenal when they hit the ages of 12 to 14. I feel slapping is an acceptable alternative but I don't use that method. My frail hands would be sore all week if I did that.
I suppose my hubby could try slapping but he's a pushover when it comes to discipline so that's not happening. What I do with my kids is smack on their arms and/or legs with a hard wooden stick a few times.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
