That depends entirely... on the qualities of your well water. Is it a shallow or deep well? If it's shallow, your water quality could be irregular, because it will be affected my surface water in most circumstances.
If it's a deep well, as long as the water in the aquifer is good, you should be good. Well water is going to demonstrate the qualities of the groundwater in your area. If the water source--the acqifer your well is pulling from--is, for example, heavily mineralized, you'll have problems with mineralization.
If it is contaminated with undisirable elements from the watershed or other sources (pesticides, fertilizers, animal waste, and petroleam products are all potential issues, if you live in a coastal area, salt water intrusion is possible), you should know that before you use is as a drinking source. If you've had your well water tested, and it's safe to drink, untreated (which is commonly the case), mineralization is probably the only issue that MIGHT affect your skin or hair. It can also affect taste, quite strongly, especially in the west, where soils can be heavily alkaline.
I've lived in two houses with wells, and, if the well is good, I vastly prefer well water! In one house, we had a water softener--the water tasted fine, but we'd get mineral buildups in the toilets and sinks and so forth. The other house had very low (actually, safe levels of) coliform bacteria (generally a byproduct of farm runoff) present when we were in the process of purchasing the house--we insisted that as a condition for sale the former owners install an ozone purification system.
I write books on water and wastewater treatment, and I recommend you get the water tested for contaminants--and then, if you like the way it tastes, you shouldn't have any other issues. Keep your eyes open for mineral build-up (an easy way to test is to boil some water down an inch or two in a pan and see if it leaves a whitish ring), and if that bothers you, you can put in some sort of softener system--but the mineralization is very seldom a health issue--and if it is, in general, the water taste will be lousy enough to keep you from drinking it. I don't recommend reading them. They're pretty tedious! .
Definately could be. The water could contain bacteria, it could contain water soluble toxins that can enter through the skin. You would need to have the water tested before using it for anything..
Depends on the well water! Ours is fine. If you are unsure of the quality of the water, get it checked.
Otherwise, if people in the house are drinking it, you should be fine. There are shampoos and conditioners designed for various degrees of hard and soft water, so just find a good match.
Better for you than city water. Most city water contains flouride and chlorine. Not only does it penetrate the body through the skin, but you breath the vapors.
If your well water is not contaminated and I don't mean minerals, you should be ok. Any shower is better than none. Health nut edward .
Hopefully not It better not be. I've been doing it for 35 years.
