How accurate is the "Book of Mormon" not very, there have been 3913 changes in the book since the so called inspired translations by Joseph Smith. From an archaeological perspective not at all there has not been one single find in all of the USA or the americas that confirm any of the BoM. As to the musical it is an interpretation of events by so called ex mormons or those who have had limited experience with the LDS and the musical is not endorsed by the LDS or in any unofficial statement from them.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
