Forgiveness is a part of love. Jesus said "love your neighbor as yourself" and on the Cross "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" and "love one another as I have loved you" put those together and you begin to get a picture of what Gods love looks like, and so what ours should look like. Both towards others and towards ourselves.
And though it was a gift that originated with by doing it, it's a gift we give ourselves. It heals. It lifts up.It restores.
We confuse ourselves by looking for easy answers and want to go to "a verse" to find something, rather than listening to the message that is being conveyed through the big picture.
You have to forgive yourself to some extent for the wrongs you have done in the past or the occasional time you "drop the ball" but forgiveness is something God gives one time for past sin when we asked him and every time we confess our sins to him and try again.
Yes, forgiveness as a gift to ourselves is definitely in the Bible. I'm glad you asked this question. I'm sure many people would like to know the answer to this.
There is not enough room to answer the question here so I answered it in a hub that I just wrote.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
