Paradomestic roaches like American Roaches prefer to harbor outside but often enter structures the same way humans do, through an open door. Therefore, the most effective treatments are those performed around the exterior of your home with focus on possible points of entry and reduction of harborage like leaf litter.

Liquids are most often used and are very effective, but granular products and some weatherized baits work well also. Some domestic roaches, like German Roaches, however, are commensal to humans. That is, they are not seen where there are no people.

Reduction of harborage and sanitation efforts are usually necessary to eradicate large populations and prevent their return.
