Is there an airplane named after a person?

Many. The Wright Flyer, almost all the Russian planes, Cessna, Beech, and more. And of course there was the Enola Gay and the Glamorous Glyinnis But individual nicknames shouldn't count!

Lots of pilots nicknamed their planes for their girls. So names like Chuck Yeager's "Glamorous Glynnis" or the B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay" would be akin to say, the "Memphis Belle" (a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress) Company names shouldn't count either. Russian planes are identified by the companies that built them (Mikoyan-Gurevich for MiG, Yakovlev for Yak), along with a type number, (for example, MiG-21 or Type 21).

However, many had their own names as well. These were the nicknames given to the entire fleet of a single type, rather than the individual names bestowed by single pilots. A twin-engined medium bomber from WWII Named for General Billy Mitchell, a World War I general who was an early proponent of air power, he was the first man to sink a battleship with an airplane.In fact, he was so far ahead of his time that he was tried by court-martial and thrown out of the Army for his "radical" views.
