None. If it were written by an all-knowing being, then it wouldn't contain the things in it. I don't think what you're going to get what you're looking for from believers, Dreamstuff Entity.
Pontiff: So in other words, it was written by men who had faith. Therefore by having faith, you believe in God, no actually evidence required to believe he's real. And that's a good thing how?
Mcneiltony: "There are many books that detail historical, scientific, and archeological facts that support the authenticity of the Bible. " And there are many things in the Bible which do the opposite. Central N.Y. Guy: Such irony in your answer.
It really does hurt. Rev Doc Holiday: One, how come there's no evidence of Jews in Egypt during the reign of the Pharaohs let alone a mass exodus? How come there are prophecies which have yet to be fulfilled or failed?
How come there are discrepancies and contradictions in the Bible? PARTYMARTY: Most atheists have read the Bible. Just because we criticize it doesn't mean we didn't read it.
I agree with and could add to rev Doc Holiday, but those facts are often ignored, although they cannot be denied. A collection of books written by about 4o different men over a period of 1600 years, when put together forming a complete book with one common theme running right through from beginning to end. Amazing!
A book that so accurately describes scientific facts, geographical facts, historical facts (giving names and places in detail), only recently discovered by today's experts in those fields. Fulfilled prophecy that cannot be denied even by critics of the Bible. A man's existence and action that cannot be denied or erased from history - namely Christ.
Even the very sayings of that man, which are still practical today, and which could not have come from an earthly source. One example - the golden rule. There is a lot more proof including evidence that all the foretold utterances are coming to pass including the attitudes of those who, interestingly, once believed in God and certain moral standards, but now deny them.
I would quote an example from the scriptures, but this is not allowed. I think this evidence greatly outweigh any theory or theology written or presented by any mere human, which we all are.
The bible is what is called "Faction" A fictional story set in a factual time and place. Thus the time, place and real historical characters are all correct but the fictional characters and stories are not! There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!
At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded! There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death! He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?
Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death! Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter! At best he was an amalgam of those others but almost certainly never existed!
The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god! He took the Jewish religion and basing it on the Mithras religion, organized it into Christianity and then into the Holly Roman Catholic Church! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!
Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead? What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Jewish enemies by turning them into his invented Christianity - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!
Theistic believers often like to present scriptures as facts. Quoting something from the Bible or other religious book to infer a conclusion is not a legitimate point or argument. Using scriptures relies on presupposing existence rather than actual proof of existence.
Therefore, a bible quote is metaphysical theorising and not empirical evidence.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
