I love both my pets (I have a maine coon and an alaskan malamute) but if I could no longer afford to care for them.. (especially Fenris the malamute as he eats A LOT) I would give them to someone who could. I'd try for a friend or family member of course. The other situation has been mentioned.. if my son, myself or my husband became allergic to one or the other that would require a re-home too.
Otherwise they would be stuck outside all the time and I just don't think that's fair. I however would never take either to the pound. They are my responsibility as I chose to take them on.. so either I find someone to care for them or continue to do my best till I can.
Playing with my son when they were both only 6 months old. the ever jealous Cheshire.. who hates both dog and kid lol.If something awful happened and I was homeless or just couldn't afford to give it the best possible care. I first would try to find it a good loving home before I would consider a shelter. That is my little girl on my avatar.
Her name is Bitsy. :).
If my pet threatened the health or safety of myself or my family, then yes. Dogs turn on owners, children get allergies. My niece is barely 5 and was just diagnosed with asthma.
The doctor informed my sister that the asthma was being aggravated was by allergies, such as to pet dander. I am currently trying to convince her that her dog may be a "family member" but asthma can kill children. I suffered with it as a child with similar triggers.
If it was my decision, goodbye pet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
