Boston, Massachusetts is a city that hosts numerous colleges and has a significant, annual influx of college students. However, Boston is not generally regarded as a city that has a booming night life. But that is not to say that there aren’t still plenty of good clubs and bars to go to.
There are still lots of good clubs and bars around Boston, but they all typically close their doors at 2 am, and because of the smoking ban in 2004, many people prefer to hang out outside. Some of the areas where great clubs and bars can be found include Kenmore Square, where you can frequent The Modern, Cambridge’s Cantab Lounge, the Avalon, or the Roxy night club; and the Faneuil Hall area, which holds numerous great Irish pubs, like the Bell in Hand Tavern, the Black Rose, the Purple Shamrock, and Hong Kong. You should probably avoid going out to any bars or clubs in Chinatown because it is not the safest area, and you should avoid walking in the Boston Commons at night as well.
