Is there any way to get a small grease spot out of a light yellow sweatshirt that's already been washed?

I love the sweatshirt, hate the spot. Asked by ibstubro 20 months ago Similar questions: small grease spot light yellow sweatshirt washed Lifestyle > Fashion.

Maybe, but not if it's already been dried. The heat chemically changes the oil and makes it a permanent part of the landscape. Before the drying, one can try a dab of "Dawn" dish soap as a degreaser to help undo the chemical bonds in the stain, along with spraying a pretreater like Shout on it..

1 Yes...you can either saturate the spot with Greased Lightening, let sit for a few hours..heck even a day ...then wash in water as hot as it can stand. Or...you can try Dawn Dishwashing liquid to remove the spot. Pretreat, let sit, hottest water.... Dawn got lipstick out of carpet...thanks to my little girl...grrr.Or....You can try the old cook's trick.

Spot test the fabric with that automotive degreaser....I don't recall the name but you can get it at Walmart. It comes in a purple jug, shaped like an antifreeze jug. Ok, so it is a huge bottle to get for a tiny spot, but it comes in handy when cleaning up baked on grease in your baking pans and oven.

I used to wash my chef's jacket in that stuff once a week. I'd add just a little bit to the wash with hot water.

2 Oh, and to prevent the grease spots, wear a bib apron. They are apparently coming back into fashion. I have always worn them in the kitchen, but then again, an apron is a tool of my trade.

Though, my home aprons are cute and frilly and remind you of something Lucy or Ethel would wear.

3 Waterless hand cleaner (Goop, GoJo) works well on grease stains before they're set. For one that's been washed into the fabric, you might have some luck with an enzymatic cleaner:greenliving.suite101.com/article.cfm/wha... one that looks pretty serious:steris.com/products/view.cfm?id=3183 .

4 I have tried enzymatic cleaners for grease spots. They didn't perform too well, but I can see GoJo really knocking it out. I wonder if Lava would work?

It's not something that can be dry cleaned or machine washed. " "Oh no! What should I use to get pizza grease out of my jeans if I forgot it was there and washed and dried the pants?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
