Is this why Great Britain never abolished the House of Lords?

The reason that we have a second chamber is so that the government of the day can not just change the law to suit themselves also we could not be called a democratic country without the house of lords making sure that the country is run legally, what you young people do not realise is the word great as in great britain derives from the existence of the house of lords the noble families of great britain have been ruling this country for hundreds of years they have over the centaries through wars exploration discoveries inventions and large industrial investment made great britain what it is to day, then you get some idiot politician who is more communist than anything else decides to try and make a name for himself and suggests the abolition of the house of lords like 600 years of english history which the whole world envies to close down on his say so ,NO sir it is not going to happen in your lifetime or anyone slse lifetime that is on this planet at the moment how these imbiciles are voted in as an mp I do not know but they never amount to much with their way out ideas. Now the reason that a race horse wins the derby instead of a milkmans horse or a coalmans horse is simply breeding they are bred to be race horses, and the same difference is with our house of lords these people have been bred to lead they have been educated in eaton or harrow public schools ,these schools have produced between them more primeministers admirals fieldmarshalls and leaders of industries than any other schools in the world why? Simply because of breeding you can dislike it as much as you like or be as jelous of the ruling class as much as you like but that is what makes britain great and always will be.so in answer to your question do not join the idiots at asking a stupid question find out about these things before you make a fool of yourself in the asking in the first place ok.

We shouldn't abolish it as it's there to prevent bad legislation, it also handles the vast majority of EU directives which allows the Government to get on with the more important issues. I would however cut the number by 50% and stop the hereditary peers. Being an hereditary peer doesn't automatically mean you know more about anything than others, in fact the opposite is normally true as many of these people have never had to do a thing in their lives.

There should also be a retirement age for these people.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
