I think it should be abolished - Denmark and New Zealand got rid of their upper houses in the 1950s and have never looked back. I guess the main argument for keeping it would be that it's supposed to provide expert scrutiny on legislation and advise/amend; however it's been crammed full of party donors and retired/defeated MPs. It's debatable whether it actually does that as they're appointed for life (you can go to jail and your seat'll still be there when you get out) and there's no limit to the number of lords - you can always stick a couple of hundred more in if need be.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
