Is vegetarian dog food a safe option as dog food?

It's an excellent option. As a matter of fact some dog breeds must limit the intake of meat protein and rely entirely on vegetarian dog food. I had a Dalmatian, who died a couple of months ago and lived a longer than average life on Vegetarian dog food exclusively.Gh protein dog foods can cause a build-up of ureaic acid which can lead to painful bladder infections.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
