Is ventura california an expensive place to live? is it a high crime area? good place to raise kids?

I took a weekend trip down there to go shopping and get away and man! It seemed like the perfect mix between big city shopping and small town simplicty and I FELL IN LOVE! Now im looking for some help figuring out how expensiv it is to live there, how safe is it there, is there a huge drug problem there?

Id love to fininsh my education and find myself a place down there to settle down! Start saving to purchase my own house! (BTW to all of you that have given me so much encouragement!

Expensive place to live Nice place to raise kids. Little crime, still has family town atmosphere, although has grown significantly over the last 15 years and the cost of living and housing are very high .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
