Isn't Nancy Pelosi just telling the American people to go to hell by not allowing a vote on offshore drilling?

You might want to go back to Civics class. The people do not choose the speaker, the members fo the house do. But Pelosi will win her district next year if she wins, and if the Democrats take back the house (and they might the way the Republicans are burning all of their political capital trying to balance the budget by reneging on promises made to grandma and grandpa), then Pelosi may once again be speaker.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
