I've just been stopped by Askville from answering any more questions because I have "too many in progress"! Why? Most of the questions that I supposedly have "in progress" were questions that I ACCIDENTALLY logged into, and thus "abandoned" before I even made an attempt to answer them!
Nonetheless, Askville thinks that I must still be "working away" on these questions, and have stopped me from answering any more questions (a few of which I'm quite knowledgeable about) until I clear my nonexistent "slate". Now, I'm going to just have to sit here like a "bump on the log" until these questions drop-off via expiration--rendering me "mute"! Why should Askville do this?
I though the whole idea of Askville was to ANSWER questions--not to be penalized if you seem to be trying to answer too many! --"THE MUZZLED MAN" Asked by Predator 52 months ago Similar questions: stopped Askville answering questions progress Amazon > Askville.

Ah, you bumped up against the 10 question limit... First of all, if you think you have abandoned the answer slot and it still shows up as in your list of questions to answer, you need to abandon them again. Sometimes it doesn't take the first time. You will know if you successfully abandoned an answer when Askville takes you back to your My Askville page and a message comes up that says you "successfully abandoned your answer".
If it doesn't come up, click on abandon again. Also the question will disappear off your list. If it still doesn't work after two tries, you need to submit feedback to Askville, as you might have encountered an Askville Bug.
One more reason for abandoning an answer slot, besides being able to answer other questions, is that other people will be able to answer the question. Allowing a question to just drop off your list stops the person from getting a possible total of 5 answers. It is bad Askville Etiquette.
If you have other further questions, feel free to private message and I'll help you navigate Askville.
Go to "My Askville" and click on your action items I had to ask about this as well, but my problem was because I couldn't figure out HOW to reserve an answer spot and then go back later when I had enough time to answer it properly. The great answers I got would probably sort out your problem too. If you notice on the "My Askville" page, in the top right hand corner there is a box showing number of questions you should vote on, number of questions you're working on answers to and number of new compliments, inbox items and friend requests you have.
I hadn't even noticed this section, but now it's the first thing I hit when I log on. If you click "Answer Question" and then decide you don't want to bother, you have to click on the "Abandon Answer" icon to give up your answer slot. Any other action, like just switching back to home or another screen, will still keep your answer slot reserved for you.
Maybe you accidentally used a back-screen feature or selected "discussions," "Home" or something else without first clicking on Abandon Answer. It's easy enough to do, but it also means you've still got that answer slot. Hope this helps.
If that's not the problem, I guess it's just those old computer devils trying to rule the world or spoil your fun or whatever. They're totally unpredictable. But check the "Answers you're working on" first and see if you do have open stuff.
They'll all be listed on a screen, under the "Answers needing votes" list. Fix it, we all want to hear from you! .
Abandon those babies! Go back to any or all of those in progress questions and do the old one-two Abandon to them! Get them out of your life!
Break loose from those chains and those questions, and declare your freedom from questions you've changed your mind about! Do you know how? It's not hard--just go to the question, and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Abandon Answer.
That should take care of it. Now, if there is a real problem and they won't abandon, you should definitely send feedback to the Askville powers that be. They are the only ones that can fix that kind of thing.
I hope you get it fixed soon, as I know you are missing answering these questions! The reason they do this is so that some goofy person won't tie up a bunch of questions for naught--with no intention of answering them! How rude would that be?!
Not that you would ever do something like that, but unfortunately there are those that would. Rip that muzzle off and post 10 answers when you are "free"! *Poppet*'s Recommendations Lily Under the Muzzle Amazon List Price: $39.99 See, you're not the only one!
Lily is under the muzzle, so you will have to explain to her how you got the muzzle off! .
Just a suggestion You probably should finish all the questions you are in the middle of! Sources: my opinion .
Questions... I haven't perused your questions so I really don't know but I would bet that your questions are asking for opinions on things that are not all that important or meaningful to the large pool of readers. Ask something that you seriously need to know about in order to solve a problem or something. Many questions are like, "What is your favorite blah blah...?" and have no real value to most people nor do they have a right or best answer..
Has anyone had someone on askville to be friend without answering any questions and send you messages....
Isn't it against the rules for ppl answering questions and getting paid for them on Turk to ask askville and have the.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
