There are several schools of thought on this subject. Many believe that Jesus was offering them salvation during His 3 days of death while others believe that Gods requirement for salvation before Jesus was belief in His power as creator. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
