I would say yes, but I can never be sure. I take a stand against the Rodeo and get severely ridiculed and hated because of it as I live on a small Island with plenty of red necks (I can say that in absolutely honesty, because they actually like being called rednecks) and I openly voice my opinion against things like that when people bring them into the conversation. Mind you, slavery is a whole different matter but I'm not a stranger to rocking the boat, so to speak.
I definitely would have been part of the Women's Suffrage.
Knowing what I do know then yes, however if I were brought up in that environment I'm not sure it would have the same effect on me emotionally. If I'm honest I don't care that people may not agree with me or call me out on things. I'm already gay and a vegan, I get hate and prejudice now so I doubt it would bother me.
If I believe in something that is clearly morally right then no one would ever silence me (unless they kill me of course).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
