I have reported this sort of abuse before, and Askville changed my rating from an awful to an okay. They said they did it, in part, because I had never asked them to change a rating before; however, the question/ answer I reported was much more subjective. This question seems pretty black and white to me -- the guy asks if it will work, you tell him it will and how to get it to work.

What more can he want? Perhaps he wanted you to come to his house and do it for him? Anyway, the answer is yes, Askville can do something about it -- and I hope they will.

Yes That’s a clearcut case of voting abuse. You answered the question with everything the questioner needed. I have no idea why you got an awful rating, but I suspect it was because the answer was a copy/paste.

That’s clearly WRONG to do that (I mean vote awful on it). I’d imagine you’ll receive an e mail from Askville regarding that report, but don’t hold your breath for it. I had a rating amended from three months ago just last week, and it was already determined at that time the two users were in collusion together, gaming the syatem (not the recent two).

If they do amend the rating, which they should, the added coins will show up in your history as an administrative change. I’ve received word from Askville that they’re backlogged with voting abuse reports,so it may indeed take some time,if they do anything at all. I’m still wating to have this rating amended, and look at the time stamp on it.

Now,you cited the source, addressed the question at hand,so I'd say it's clearly abuse, though I wouldn't count on them changing it to great, because they rarely ever do that. They may change it to okay,or maybe good, but great rarely happens. I'd completely avoid answering any of that person's questions in the future.Do not ever confront the person who's given you an unfair rating!

You can try... They might do something, but there are no guarantees. If someone else had answered with the same or very similar answer, and got a better rating than yours, they might change the rating on yours. But from what I've seen/heard, with just one answer and nothing to compare it to, they might just disregard it.

I have one in the same situation, reported it earlier this week and have not seen anything done about it. Oh, well, such is life! But you are right in reporting it, I feel.

Not for the points, necessarily but to alert Askville to the situation so if it happens to others and a pattern arises that they are aware of it.

Just want to say, I appreciate your answers and have always given you a 'great' rating! Lol Now that I have prefaced that, here is my response: ABUSE huh? Wow, isn't this a fun free forum called ASKVILLE?

Is it that serious for you? .

I don't blame you for reporting that. I hope they can do something for your sake.

When you answer a question how do you find your rating of answer.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
