1 I know several people how got the lap band and I have to tell you, they all lost weight but they all gained it back again. One guy ate so much that the band broke inside of him. There is one major problem with these weight loss surgeries and that is the problem is not in your stomach, the problem is in your head.

Until a person learns to eat properly and exorcise, they will always have a weight problem. When you get these surgeries you have to completely change the way you eat or you will run into some major health problems. Most people who get these surgeries most times eventually go back to the way they ate that got them over weight.

The thing I don't understand is, if your going to get this surgery and then change the way you eat, why not save the thousands of dollars and not get the surgery and change the way you eat and lose the weight naturally? .

2 They are usually Celiac people...could have lost weight with maybe LDN or the Celiac diet which stops cravings. Some don't heal since they really aren't healthy due to Celiac. Some stomach bypass people lose diabetes since it removes that part of the intestines that absorbs sugar maybe... They can't eat much and it is not healthy enough in my opinion. It changes their life...by force...but if they did the Celiac diet they would have more choices maybe in what they eat.

They give them whey...which if they can't have dairy...would not be good for them. They like how they lost weight but some still gain it back again. I would think lapband is better than bypass surgery which I just described...but it can slip.

3 People who get lap band surgery are not celiac. No one who isn't celiac will lose weight on the celiac diet. Having a bypass doesn't not cure diabetes.

Diabetes is a blood sugar disease, and has nothing to do with intestines. Neithe rhaving a lpa band or having diabetes has anything to do with whey or dairy. The only truth in your entire comment was that lap bands can slip.

5 Gastric bypass does "cure" most type 2 diabetes people who have the bypass (not lap banders). It's the result of the restriction of carbs for the most part. I know several people who had the bypass and left the hospital without having to be on insulin.

Are they really cured? As long as they maintain their healthy weight it doesn't come back, but I guess it is always there lying dormant. diabeteshealth.com/read/2005/04/01/4261/... .

I would like to hear from people who have had lap-band surgery.

What is the biggest ammount of pounds you can loose after lap band surgery.

I know I've been gone a while, but just wanted to check in with my old Askville friends; I'm having surgery today.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
