The core Romney supporters will continue to die off. The Latino population will continue to rise. The "Conservative Christians" in reality, neither will continue to shrink while "nones" will continue to grow.
Deluded sociopaths like Rush will continue to fire up extremists to vote further to the right. If you are a Barry Goldwater conservative all of this appalls you, especially the Rush part.
You make a fatal error in your assumption: "the tea party type extremes will no longer be listened to or welcomed". Even now the GOP is convincing itself that they lost because Mittens wasn't conservative enough EDIT - see "tringle" 's answer above. Reality is not a real big concern for the folks in charge of the republican party.
They're not going to give up the reins of the GOP. I promise you this: in 2016, they're going to double down on crazy and field an even loonier bunch in their primaries than they did this past year. I mean, come on!
Seriously? Someone who believes vaccines cause mental retardation was a front-runner in the primaries? The fact that bachmann wasn't run out of the GOP on a rail is proof positive that the folks on their side of the aisle are either stupid or insane.
Neither stupidity nor insanity is a way to win the votes of majority of the people.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
