WQ1: No, mainly because of two reasons. First, neither The Rock nor Stone Cold got an undefeated Streak with different victims but Kane (that too, to even the number because Taker faced two worthless giants a year earlier). If The Undertaker keeps facing the same opponent, his Streak credibility will become even lower than now because he already got six nobodies on it (Gonzales, Bundy, Boss Man, Show, A-Train, and Henry).
And it wouldn't fit the number of his streak if he goes 18-0 by defeating 17 men. That means he will have to face 3 people next year if he wants to even the number till it reaches 20-0 like Mark Calaway himself has planned. Rock and Austin didn't have the victim list, so nothing would be wrong with them keep having the same opponent.
The second reason is because there is no way they can top their match last year. Rock vs Austin was great, but none of their matches were deemed as the best Wrestlemania match ever unlike Taker vs HBK. The atmosphere from all their matches are pale compared to Taker vs HBK.
And nothing special other than Vince helping Stone Cold ever happened in their Wrestlemania match. In the poll of "Do you want to see Taker vs HBK part 2 at WM 26?": 66% of the fans voted for 'no' at phenomforever.com 65% of the fans voted for 'no' at WWE.com 67% of the fans voted for no at bleacherreport.com Truthfully, I don't find it surprising because there is no way they are going to top their match last year. Doing a match at Wrestlemania AGAIN spells desperation and disaster.
Lightning does not strike twice in the WWE, unless you're Hogan or DX. And we're talking about a feud, not a person or faction. Bottom line is, HBK/Taker from last year was awesome.
And to attempt to repeat that benefits NOBODY. What if HBK wins? Doesn't matter, because maybe he caught Taker on an off night, because Taker beat HBK before.
Or what if Taker wins? Wow, Taker beats the same guy again! His streak means crap if he's beating the same people time in and time out, and maybe HBK is washed up.
See, no benefits from either parties. The Undertaker vs HBK build up leading up to Wrestlemania was pretty much just HBK going "I know I can beat him!". This year it appears the build up is just gonna be HBK "I know I can beat him.... This time!"
It shouldn't work and WWE shouldn't get away with trying to make it work. Are WWE trying to cling to the notion that they can put on a great wrestling match by having a rematch of MOTY from 2009 and hoping that the same magic can be recreated this time around? The same magic won't be recreated this time around, it won't be as good.
Shawn Michaels kicking out of a god damn Tombstone Piledriver. They really can't top the marking out that kicking out of the Tombstone caused without doing something just ridiculous. Michaels kicking out of the Tombstone was a big damn deal and I'm pretty sure him and Kane are the only ones who have ever done it.
And Michaels isn't exactly the monster that Kane was in 1998. So yeah, I don't think they can really top that without the match just being stupid. They pulled off Kane taking 3 Tombstones because it worked.
They can't do anything like that with Michaels.... The Wrestlemania 25 match cannot be topped. The match will be big, but will they re-create the same magic, will it again be as good as the match of the year 2009? Why see a repeat of the match and feud, which anyway can’t be a long feud if they stay on different brands?
Instead, its better to give somebody fresh a chance to face Taker at Mania and build a year-long feud and gain something from it like Orton, Batista and Edge did. I think that will benefit the business more than Taker vs Michaels once more. Classics shouldn’t be repeated like this – Taker vs Shawn at Mania 25 was a culmination of WWE’s achievements in the last 25 years by finally coming around the 12-year old rivalry and settling it at the grandest stage of them all against two of their longest lasting and most loyal veterans.
It won’t have the same feel if it happens again at Mania. Taker could not beat Shawn in ‘97 and ‘98 due to Kane’s interference. Then they met again at 2 Rumbles (‘07 and ‘08) and that led to the build up of this match, where Taker finally beat Shawn to end the rivalry.
Why start it all over again now!? Will they be able to put a similar build-up/ promos as last year (Shawn appearing from the top in white with angels, representing light, giving grave-yard promo, etc)? Will you be surprised if Shawn kicks out of the tombstone or the Hell’s gate?
Will you be surprised if Taker kicks out of 2 superkicks this time? WQ2: I don't mind that one. WQ3: No, because Vince himself has stated The Streak will never end.
WQ1:Thats pretty much the scenario I want to happen. HBK will use the unfied tag team titles to put himself on both the Raw and Smackdown roster to enter the elimination chamber #1 contender shot for the WHC match. Win that match, then the Undertaker would be force to face him at mania.
I wish that Edge challenges Christian instead though. I know the ECW is like nothing compare to the other two, but ECW is planning to disband and hopefully Christian would be sent to Smackdown. It would be a great match between the two and I really want Edge to stay on Smackdown.
WQ2: I think that in this point in his career, its really hard to hate him. As a face, he can be a arrogant jerk to people too, but people still cheer for him. I can see it, but he would probably be classified as a tweener though.
WQ3: Big HBK fan, but I don't want him to end the streak. He is the best guy to do it, but Taker should end his career with it. Someone brought up an Iron Man Match.
The score would be 2-1. So HBK would be the closest guy to beating taker because he pinned him once. I would like to see that cause HBK would had cemented his career and Taker would still have his streak.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
