I think hurricanes are probable the worst. They bring a long duration of strong winds following by flooding. It's almost like two disasters in one.
You can also have fires that could result from damaged buildings as well. Overall it seems that hurricanes have the ability to cause the most widespread devastation and suffering of any other disaster.
No more water to drink, but everything is under water....no more food to eat but everywhere is oversupply of rubbish and food scraps...no more place to call home...and yet space is everywhere around you...inhospitable space...you reach out but there is no one to hold your hand....
Everything is going fine but then suddenly the soil started to crack and eats everything on its way leaving no trace.
I think it's a good idea to compile a list of natural disaster. I am feeling generous today, so I am going to write a small description of each disaster, including an example (hopefully one that exists in Wikipedia) to illustrate better. I have a background in weather, and several books on disasters lying on my floor, could be a bit of work.
It didn't seem to make a lot of sense, or flow with the article--it had non-encyclopedic writing. Is there a list of the world's worst natural disasters here? What about the type of plague that isn't a disease epidemic, but a swarm of locusts, ants, mice, etc. The term plague is used to refer to these, but this overlaps heavily with "epidemic".
Is there a name or category by which these swarming events are referred to which does not include disease-based plagues?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
