Gift baskets can be great gifts. I like to create my own, because it's so much more fun to personalize them, plus you'll pay about half what you would for a commercially created one. I made some up for movie loving girlfriends this year, because I found great old fashioned looking popcorn "bowls" (made to look like movie theatre popcorn boxes) at the dollar store.

Some gift certificates for renting movies, popcorn and traditional movie candy and you're good to go! Look for coupons for 40% off at Michaels and grab a basket there for a big traditional gift basket. I usually add a bottle of wine, a pretty wine stopper, fancy crackers and gourmet jam, things of that nature.

For weddings I'll sometimes use a two-by-two approach and get a bunch of pairs of little liquor bottles, cute little wine or rocks glasses, little snacks and things, and tie each pair of things up in ribbons. There are tons of ways to make it unique :).
