Looking for affordable Christmas crafts to make as gifts that a 5 and 9 year old can do?

I've written a hub on kids gift ideas you can check out, but some other ideas are to have kids handprint an apron or bag or pot holders with green/red paint and turn these into reindeer, santas, cardinals, angels. There are ideas out there if you look for them. Feet can be turned into snowment and you can make a really cute door mat if you get carpet scraps.

I'm not sure whether it would be classed as a craft or not, but maybe you could supervise them whilst they made and decorated some peppermint creams or coconut ice and put them into little individual truffle papers, they could also decorate the bags or little boxes to put them in. The shouldn't cost much either.

Thanks for the ideas! I think we are going to trying putting thumb prints on some glass ornaments I already have then making them into snowmen and reindeer. I have to mail everything, so I want to avoid food.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
