Boy named charlie, fancy hotel, buying valentines hrt shaped box 4 girl I read a book as a child about a boy, I think his name was charlie, who wanted to buy a large heart shaped box of candy for a valentines gift for a girl he liked at school. Every day on his way to school he passed a fancy hotel and I can see the picture of the doorman.

The book was a children's book, probably paperback, written most likely in the 70's or early 80's. It was illustrated and I can see the oval/heart shaped face of the girl he had a crush on.... I'm wanting to know the title to see if I can track a copy down.
