Lord Of The Rings if you want a more serious, action packed, thought provoking and sentimental movie. The character development was better too, I felt that Bombur, Bifur, Nori and Ori didn't get much screen-time or have many lines at all. Whereas the fellowship all got involved in some way, even Boromir for the short time he was in the film.
The Hobbit if you want something more light-hearted (at least until the last movie) and funny. Still plenty of messages and thought provoking moments but due to some of the villains not being quite as scary as those in LOTR Of course there is plenty of action in The Hobbit but I thought some scenes were ruined because the movement was just too fast and it made the action a bit blurred. I prefer LOTR but in fairness to Peter Jackson it would have been very hard to make The Hobbit as good or even better than LOTR even though there was much he added to the movie that wasnt in the book.
Like Azog for example. LOTR had some things that weren't in the books but nothing too major as far as I remember. Peter Jackson said he added some of the action in both movies because the pace was 'too relaxed' and would have been boring to watch compared to read.
Haven't seen Lord of Rings, but finished Hobbit, the movies were all right they kept getting better in each part of true story with Battle of Five Armies being the big one.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
