Dear Doug, Yes, the sources need to be acknowledged and permissions acquired from the media and/or photographers involved, depending on who owns the rights to the particular pictures. Once you acquire permissions, you will be given the language that each source prefers for acknowledgment. To find out who owns rights, contact the newspaper or magazine in which you find the photo, and give them as much information as possible, including date of publication, section and page number, and photo credit if visible.

It's possible that you'll find some rights-free photos of very famous figures at sources like clipart.com; you can use such photos at will, without acknowledgment. It's also possible that you could use published photos but alter them so much in Photoshop that you could call it original art, but even then the rights issue is dicey. It's best to track down rights and ask for permissions in every case.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
