Probably another 1 1/2 to 2 years, in my opinion. Of course, no one can know for sure. Not even your vet.
I had a Golden Retriever, and she was doing great, then had a quick and steady decline right around when she turned 10. I had to put her down about a year ago because she had intestinal cancer, and even with surgery it might not have been able to be corrected because they didn't know how far it was spreading and how fast. To get her surgery would have not only cost somewhere between $2,000-$3,000, because of her age she could have died under anesthesia.
I was so sad to put her down, but it was the best for her as she was internally dying and I couldn't bear to see her suffer anymore than she had (she had trouble getting up in the mornings, needed someone to guide her bottom down the stairs to the backyard in the morning, fell over a lot, and cried before lying down. It took her forever to lay down! :( I wanted her to make it to at least 15 (and was convinced she would,) and I always talked about how healthy she was - then she became ill.
I honestly hope and pray that your special canine friend lives that long, but only God knows when it is her time. Cherish every minute you have with that dog, because once she is gone, those memories will be the only thing you have left of her in this life until you meet again one day in heaven. The truth is, you can always get a new dog, but they will never replace the memory or love of the other dog - never compare them, or you will be hurt.
Think of them like people - two very different dogs, one is just no longer physically with you.
Honestly no one can tell you that. But she aoudad very healthy and will hopefully live for at least another year? I can't promise that though.
Larger breeds tend to live shorter lives them smaller toy breeds. A lab is a pretty big dog and fourteen years is a long time for her already. If you can keep her healthy and exercise her well and keep her on a good diet she may live for a couple more years.
Like I said no one can tell you, because she could have an accident or a heart attack or something completely random. So be prepared because she is an old dog and she might not survive much longer... So good luck and I wish her an amazing rest of her life.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
