Mansi asks: If one likes lying and has a way with words, does it mean one would make a good fiction writer?

This is an interesting question. The line of thought how fiction isn't real and therefore a type of lie that has been well written, is one that could lead people to believe that what you ask is more than plausible. However, in my own personal opinion, I believe that truly good fiction comes not from lies and words, but from making what seems impossible and improbable and as fake as say blasting bolts of lightning from your hands come to life.

I don't think it is lying, but imagination that makes great fiction. Also, I believe that the best fiction comes from real life experiences, exaggerated and just a little tweaked to fit into whatever story line. The best fictional stories that I have the pleasure of reading have been by authors who manage to make the characters believable and able to relate to.So long as readers can sympathize with the characters of the story, where ever that character is, whatever they are doing, and whatever story line they are following no longer seems impossible and becomes something that readers can relate to through the thoughts and feelings of the character that they relate to.

That's the way that I feel about about all writing though. In essence fiction is a story. For whatever reason it's being told.

To tell a lie is to hide something. To tell a story is share something that is hidden. That's the best answer that I feel I can give.

I hope it was helpful.

That depends on whom it is and wither the person actually wants to become a fiction writer first, practice though, draw webs and write down all you ideas, let your colorful vocabulary come out once you got all you thoughts down......then if you final draft it and it's good enough someone might want to publish it, diligence and patience is needed for this.

Fiction writing takes a lot more than just a penchant for lying blatantly. A way with words, a definite story to tell, a conviction and the ability to create a rapport with the target audience are only some things a good story teller needs to have in his repertoire. Having said that, I also believe that a habitual liar will not make a good author.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
