This is understandable but the problem with this is that working around the issue for those who account for 1% of the app usage may lead to problems with the users accounting for the other 99%. Are there any gotchas when extending the MapView that I don't know about? This is my main concern about "working around" this issue.

I'll give it some more time to see if anybody else has a complete fix or a different solution. – hooked82 Sep 28 at 4:16 I'll go ahead and mark this as the answer, as it is a workable solution, just not desired. Thanks – hooked82 Oct 7 at 15:01.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
