Maradona or Pele~ Who is more of a football genius?

Maradona - Good, Pele - Better, GEORGE BEST! Nobody is perfect and for all his talent he did have problems off field as I have mentioned before but if you ask anyone about what he did and what he is known for, then they will tell you he was one of the finest footballers the world has ever seen.

I consider Pele more as a football genius, rather than Maradona. At least Pele did not rely on 'the Hand of God' in his achievements in goalscoring. :-).

Well, Maradona was a good player, but he was also a cheat; Pele was a brilliant player, I don't think he has ever been accused of cheating, it must be Pele, out of the two who is the greatest footballer. There can never be a definitive answer to a greatest footballer question because there have been many other greats, Stan Mortison, Stanley Matthews, Tom Finney, Eusabio, Georgie Best... and none of them, including Pele and Maradona would be able to compete in the modern game of football, perhaps it's best to remember these greats for who they were and how they played in their own times.

Wooow! I think these two people played in two different periods of this great sport. But they are both similar in style as in small stature with great dribbling skills and speed.

But in one way or the other, I think they are different. WHen you talk about the skills and entertainment, I give Maradona more plus, but when you are considering effectiveness and great impact in the team as a whole, I consider Pele to be greater- that is why he was able to win 3 world cups! In summary, I think I will give it to pele.

Maybe controversial but I would say for flair and entertainment Maradona was the best. Pele was a great talent but I loved to watch the mazing runs of Diego and he takes my vote. Watching the worlds best player today (Messi) he reminds me much more of Maradona.

The never dying question, Maradona or Pele. A lot of us were not there to see their individual play in all competitions. Pele played in Brazil leagues.

Not in europe. Maradona played in europe. They both won world cups.

They are different players. One is a mess the other is a role model. All things considered Pele has to be chosen.

But Maradona brough ligh on soccer, he brough excitement, daring runs, comments, life style. He was a bigger influence on soccer than Pele was at the time and to this day. Maradona newest news is followed on a huge scale.

Pele is steady rational and smart. Sports requires both characters. Maradona was more skilled.

Pele was better for the sport.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
