Well, ok. First, I understand you love your furkid, but at that age, I do not think I would put him through that. Chemo is very hard on animals, just like humans, and the worst part is that they cannot understand why you are putting them through that.
Poor thing. I wish I could offer some comfort, but the bottom line is that he is going to cross the rainbow bridge no matter what you do. And, from a medical standpoint, if he is that fair along, chemo is not going to cure him.
I'm sorry, but I think you should not do this.
Personally; I would do what I could to make him comfortable for as long as I could; and then take him in to be put to sleep. My vet once told my mother about a cat with cancer: "when he is no longer happy to be here; you will know it is time to let him go. "at this point; my prognosis would be that the chemo won't cure him; and will just make him miserable; so he will be happier without; until it is time to let him go.
I am so sorry, but I agree with TurboB and TheLightWorks, chemo is so very hard on them, wouldn't it be better to take him home, make him as comfortable as you possibly can,he'll let you know when he's ready. 15 is the average age for a cat, he obviously has had a wonderful life with you. You'll see it in his eyes, he'll ask you to let him go, please honor that.
THANK YOU for your devotion and commitment to him. And remember one day when he passes, he WILL be waiting for you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Show the cat a little mercy and have it put out of it's misery.
