My bathroom sink water is scalding hot, but my shower hot water only gets lukewarm...what's the problem?

Ifff... If you have a single knob or lever controlling the shower temperature, there often is a leak in those between the hot and cold water entrances-- that leads to always having a substantiall amount of cold water coming into the mixture even with the lever all the way over to "HOT". Sometimes the valve has a replaceable seal, sometimes not and you have to replace the whole valve. Better do it because this cross-leak can lead to all kinds of weird effects at other faucets too..

Your shower control has an anti-scald device - that is set too conservatively. Modern shower valves have devices to both prevent flushing the toilet form affecting the temperature, and prevent children from accidentally turning the control hot enough to scald themselves. It sounds like the plumber who installed yours did not set the anti-scald feature as hot as you would have liked.

If you can find the make and model of the shower valve, you should be able to search out installation instructions and adjust the setting.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
