My camera says "memory card error. Format this card? " when I turn it on (also when I put it in my computer).

Can I save? I've been using the 8 GB card that my new Leica D-Lux came with. One day I get this message.

I have pics on there that I'd like to save - anything I can do besides format? Separately, when I put a backup SD card in (4GB Transcend 150X) it says Memory Card Error Parameter Error. But my oldest, smalles card (512MB PNY SD card) works fine!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
