My friend has owned two Palm Treo 650 cell phones - both drip a red/brown ooze. What could it be?

1 Regarding Batteries... yes, the batteries have been checked and they are intact and not leaking fluid. That was the first thing that was checked and the batteries looked fine.

I'm betting it's soda. Perhaps old nasty soda.

What could it be? The phones do not run warm nor do they appear to malfunction other than this ooze. Both phones have been purchased in the last 12 months.

These phones are either clearly defective, or had some sort of red brown substance poured into/on them. I'd suggest not using them and contacting the manufacturer as there is always the possibility that it is battery related, which could cause skin irritation or injury, and damage clothing. Another possibility is that it is a sealant of some type that is used in the casing of which some is being extruded out the sides for some unknown reason, again this would be cause to contact Palm and ask for repair or replacement.

If it was the other option that something had been poured into or on the phone, then tell your friend to stop pouring things on their phone and all should be fine. Just my opinion though.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
