On the opener itself (the thing screwed into the garage ceiling) there is a small wire. Usually about 18 inches long, often white insulation over a thin copper wire. It should be hanging down straight.. This is the antenna.

If that has moved - pointed in a different direction, or bent, or perhaps fallen off, then your reception will be affected/Check that the antenna is attached and pointed down.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
