If this is right.... then my suggestion is to fry the ham slices in a pan and make your own gravy from flour and herbs and DO NOT ADD SALT to your gravy. Put into the pan with the ham and cook for 10-15min on low, the gravy will soak up the salt that comes from the slices and together it won't taste so bad. Or You can boil the slices in water with allspice, potatoes, carrots and onions - it will taste slightly like corned beef and won't be salty Next time - if you want to take salt out of the ham, you can immerse in water for an hour before cooking - this will remove some salt but not ruin the ham or skin.
They can be cooked like corned beef too, they taste fine and have no fat and less salt ( boiled in a big pot ).
To get the salt out of ham - you have to boil it. If you plan to serve the entire ham, you can put it in a big pot of water on the stove and let it boil for about 10-15 minutes. Let it cool a little bit and pour the water off.
Put the ham in the oven. If you want a few slices, cut them off and put them in some water to boil. After a couple of minutes pour the water off and go from there.
You have to be totally careful with the hot water.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
