My husband and I both owe back taxes. Will they combine the liabilities? We have been filing married separately but will file jointly in 2011.

If the installment payments were made before filing jointly and you are each making the payments as asked; everything will stay the same. From here on out your taxes will be combined and any taxes you owe from here on out will be the responsibility of both of you. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
