My laptop does not have a CD/DVD Drive. Can I load software onto my laptop using a DVD player w/a USB Port? Additionally, is it posslble to view movies on a laptop connected to a DVD player via a USB port?

I would like to use a DVD player w/a USB port interchangeably with my laptop and TV Set. Is this technology possible? Asked by comdoctrn 25 months ago Similar questions: laptop CD DVD Drive load software player USB Port Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

Most dvd players will also play cds. So, if your dvd player supports cd technology, and it should, and you have the correct drivers installed on your laptop, you should be fine with what you're trying to do.

1 It is possible. I used to have an external drive that I would plug into a old Windows 98 PC that lacked a functional CD/DVD ROM drive. However, you usually have to install software on the PC first so that this hardware will be recognized when you plug it into a USB port.As far as interchangeability goes with your TV set, I can't answer that.

The newer your equipment, (PC, DVD drive, TV) the more "plug and play" this process will be. With Windows Vista or 7, you can plug just about any device into a USB port and Windows has standard drivers installed that will recognize it and try to run it for you. This is partially true with Windows Xp, and much less so the farther back you go...

2 Yup...I use an external drive with my Asus netbook. I specifically bought it to install software but it works fine for playing movies (I had to download a media player for that).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
